Ok this is demoed with a '67 Kombi, but 59-67 should be pretty much the same.
1- put your bus in gear and set the e-brake
2- chalk the front wheels
3- crack loose the wheel bolts
4- jack up your bus.
5- remove...

You'll need a 17mm allen wrench or equivalent.
3L of SAE 90 transmission/gear oil
a measuring cup
and a funnel/hose
and oil drain pan.
Use your 17mm to make sure you can loosen the top filler of the reduction box....

Once you know the top will 0pen, use your 17mm to open the bottom drain plug.

Drain the oil into a drain pan.
When it's finished draining replace bottom plug.
Hint: If you went for a drive first the oil should flow out quite nicely.

Use your measuring cup and fill 250 ml of gear oil,
Fill oil into top of reduction box.
Replace top plug, and repeat steps on other side of bus.

Ok so your reduction boxes are good, now time to drain the tranny.
Locate the two drain plugs and the filler hole.
This is the first drain plug just in front of the engine. (bottom looking up)

And the filler plug, on the drivers side of the transmission.
Again you want to make sure the filler plug can be removed BEFORE draining the transmission oil.
So STEP 1 Remove filler plug.
